ONCE A MONTH
Monthly Mahapuja

Once a month, the Sunday puja becomes a Mahapuja: a longer, fuller ceremony followed by a shared community lunch. It is one of the warmest mornings of the month and a lovely first visit for new families.

[Button]THE JCBC TEMPLE
Since 2016, our temple in Surrey has been the spiritual home of Jain families across BC. Every Sunday it fills with prayer, the sound of the Navkar Mantra, and families greeting each other with Jai Jinendra. Whether you live here or are just visiting, you are welcome to join us.

OUR BHAGWAN

Our Mulnayak, the principal Bhagwan of the temple, is Adinath Bhagwan, also known as Rishabhdev, the first Tirthankar of this time cycle.
Alongside him, the temple holds murtis of all 24 Tirthankars, shared equally between the Shwetambar and Digambar traditions. It is a rare place where both traditions worship side by side, under one roof, as one community.
SUNDAY PUJA
Two pujas every Sunday morning, and a Mahapuja once a month. Join for one puja or stay for the whole morning.

8:30 AM
A devotional puja offered to the Jinas, the liberated souls who show us the path to moksha. Through prayer and reflection, it helps calm the mind and renew our commitment to Jain values.

10:00 AM
The eightfold puja, one of the most loved rituals in Jain worship. Each of the eight offerings to the Tirthankar carries its own meaning, and together they reflect the path to liberation.

PLAN YOUR VISIT
New to BC, visiting Vancouver, or simply curious about Jainism? Sunday morning is the best time to come. The temple is open, the community is there, and someone will be happy to show you around.
The temple is in Surrey's Newton area, on the second floor of a commercial building near 64 Avenue and 148 Street. Enter the building from 64 Avenue and take the stairs up to Unit #208. There is no elevator.
About 45 minutes from downtown Vancouver and 35 minutes from Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
Free visitor parking on-site. The building is shared with other businesses, so please park in open visitor spots and keep other unit entrances clear.
The temple can be reached by TransLink bus. Use Get Directions for the best route from where you are.
Darshan is open to everyone. To perform a puja yourself, please speak with a volunteer when you arrive so they can guide you.
The temple is locked and needs a passcode. Contact us first and a board member will welcome you and share access.
A few simple practices keep the temple peaceful and clean, for you and for everyone who comes after you.
Please remove your shoes and socks at the entrance, in the area provided. It is a quiet way of leaving the outside world behind.
Modest, comfortable clothing is best. Please leave leather items like belts and wallets outside the main temple area where you can.
Speak softly, keep your phone on silent, and help us keep the space tidy. Caring for the temple is itself a form of seva.
Please do not bring food into the temple or leave food offerings. If you brought any, kindly take it with you when you leave.
NEW TO JAINISM?
You do not need to know anything about Jainism to visit. If you are curious, here are some simple answers.
Want to learn more? YJA Pathshala (opens in a new tab), from Young Jains of America, is a good place to start.
GIVE BACK
The temple receives no government funding. It is cared for by volunteers and kept open by the generosity of our community. Your donation covers the everyday care of the temple and supports Pathshala, CarePath, and the Youth Group.
NEW TEMPLE EXPANSION
Your donation also helps build the New Temple Expansion, a larger home for Jain families in BC for generations to come.
We are already 67% of the way there, as of February 2026.
Prefer to give in person? A donation box is available inside the temple.
